Season Begins For West Fork Girls Track And Field

The West Fork Warhawks girls track and field team had their first meet of the year at the 2025 Girls A.D. Dickinson Relays on March 11.
 
As the season gets underway, head coach Ashley Sears said that heading into the first meet that she was excited to see what some of the freshmen can bring to the team this year. She is also excited to see what some of the returning athletes can do this year as well.
 

Season Set To Begin For West Fork Boys Track And Field

The Season will soon be under way for the West Fork Warhawks boys track and field team as the team’s first meet is on March 13 at the 2025 IATC Indoor Championships Boys 1A at Lied Recreation Athletic Center at 3:15 p.m. Head coach Caleb Hovenga said that this year is around half the team is freshmen this year. 
 

Bulldogs Esports Competes In State Tournament For Overwatch 2

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL competed in the IAHSEA State Tournament for Overwatch 2 on Feb. 26. Esports assistant head coach and Overwatch title coach Dustin Epple said that it was pretty cool for the team to make it to the state tournament, but knew it could be a challenge as the team would have to go up against bigger schools.
 

Season Set To Begin For Hampton-Dumont-CAL Girls Track And Field

The start of the track and field season is fast approaching for the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs girls team as the team’s first meet is at the Girls A.D. Dickinson Relays at the UNI-Dome on March 11 at 2 p.m.
 
Head Coach Nicole Donnenwerth said that the Bulldogs were set to have their first practice of the year on March 4. Donnenwerth said that the team has big goals.
 

A Special Season For Bulldogs Girls Basketball

When this season started, the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs Girls basketball team was coming off an 11-11 season the previous year. The Bulldogs saw a big jump in number of wins as the team went 21-3 on the year and made it all the way to the Class 3A Region 6 Championship game before the season came to an end following a 49-31 loss to the Estherville Lincoln Central Midgets on Feb. 22.
 

Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs Take Second Place In Rocket League

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs Esports team had a strong showing as two teams went to the state tournament for their games. The Rocket League team took second place in the IAHSEA Class 2A state tournament on Feb. 28. and the Overwatch 2 team also made it to their state tournament on Feb. 26.
 

Bulldogs Boys Basketball Saw Improvement During Season

While the season may have ended with a less than idea record at 4-19, the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs boys basketball team saw improvement as the year went along according to head coach Brian Niesen.
 

West Fork Girls Wrestling Had Many Positives This Year

The West Fork Warhawks girls wrestling team took 11th place out of 18 teams with a score of 54.0 points at the Class 1A Regional 4 meet at Osage on Jan. 31. Head coach Onni Prestidge said that the team faced tough opposition at the meet.
 

Bulldogs Boys Wrestling Wins Steve Deike Duals

HAMPTON—- The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs boys wrestling team went 4-0 and won the Steve Deike Duals title on Feb. 8. Head coach Patrick Hansen said that team wrestled loose and had more fun than they did at the regional meet.
 

Hampton-Dumont-CAL Boys Can’t Complete Comeback

ALGONA—--- The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs boys basketball team fell short in a comeback attempt in a 70-58 loss to the Algona Bulldogs on the road on Feb. 7. Hampton-Dumont-CAL is now 4-15 on the year.
 

Bulldogs Take First Place At Norsemen Tournament

STORY CITY—-- The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs boys wrestling team took first place at the Norsemen Dual Tournament on Feb. 1. Head coach Patrick Hansen was also voted the Central District Coach of the Year for Class 2A. 
 

Hampton-Dumont-CAL Can’t Keep Up With St. Edmond

HAMPTON—- While the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs boys basketball team was able to keep the game competitive throughout the first half; the team was unable to keep up with the No. 8. St. Edmond Gaels in the second half. The Bulldogs fell to the Gaels 72-43 to fall to 3-13 on the year during the team’s Senior Night.
 

Bulldogs wrestling have strong showing

Both the Hampton-Dumont-CAL  girls and boys wrestling teams had some success this past week. The girls team took fifth place out of seven teams at the girls North Central Conference Tournament with a score of 73 points. Maren Subbert went 3-0 and took first place in the 190-lbs weight class.

Bulldogs girls basketball hold on for win

HAMPTON—--- The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs were able to hold on for a 60-50 win over the Pocahontas Area Indians at home on Jan. 16. The Bulldogs are now 12-1 on the year following the win. The Bulldogs led 18-10 after the first quarter and in the second quarter a three-pointer by Brooklyn Valley made it 24-10 with just over 5:00 left in the second quarter. The Bulldogs kept the lead at 14 points at 29-15 with 2:30 left in the first half.

Hampton-Dumont-CAL Boys Basketball falls short against Clarion-Goldfield-Dows

HAMPTON—-- It went down to the final minutes of the fourth quarter, but the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs boys basketball team fell just short of the win in their 63-54 loss to the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys at home on Jan. 16.
 
The Bulldogs led 6-2 early in the first quarter, but Clarion-Goldfield-Dows went on a 9-4 run to take a 11-10 lead with just over 2:00 left. The quarter ended with the Cowboys up 18-13.
 

Bulldogs girls basketball suffer first loss

HAMPTON—- In a battle between two Bulldogs teams it was the  No. 10 Algona Bulldogs that came away with the win as the  No. 12 Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs fell 44-34 at home on Jan. 10. It was the first loss of the year for Hampton-Dumont-CAL, which fell to 10-1 on the year.
