Ronald Dean Viet, 85, of Dumont, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton under Care Initiatives Hospice. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Woodley Funeral Home in Dumont. A private family graveside service will be held at the Dumont Cemetery. Elizabeth (Betty) Mary Doughan of Hampton, Iowa, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2024, at her home in Chanhassen, Minnesota surrounded by family and friends.  Woodley Funeral Home of Hampton is caring for Betty and her family.

Robert “Bob” Ohl, 77, of Mason City, Iowa, entered his eternal rest on Monday, February 12, 2024.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Holy Family Church of Epiphany Parish, 722 N. Adams Ave, Mason City, with Father Neil Manternach presiding at the Mass. Burial will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Doug Hansen was born and raised in Iowa, living in Hampton with his parents, Roger and JoAnn Hansen, and his younger brother, Jim. Doug graduated from Hampton High School and the University of Northern Iowa, where he was on the wrestling team and a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

Ronald (Doug) Houston, 62, passed away February 8, 2024, at his home in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Funeral services for Doug Houston will be 11:00 am Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Immanuel Memorial United Church of Christ, 212 West Street, Alden, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Burial will be at 1:30 pm at the Friends Cemetery, Iowa Falls. The Linn’s Funeral Home, Iowa Falls is in charge of the arrangements.

Michael James Norman was born June 1, 1970, in Mason City, Iowa. He passed away on February 5, 2024, at the Comfort House in Pella.
Mike attended elementary school in Iowa City, and Ackley-Geneva and was a 1988 graduate of Hampton High School, where he met Sheila Maise. They were married on April 5, 1991, and had two children together: Brandon and Haley. They divorced in 2021. Then Mike met Alethea Wiedenhoff. 

Betty Jean Heginger (Greimann) of Sheffield passed away on February 1, 2024 in Story City.  

Beverly Bangs, 91, of Iowa Falls, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Eldora Specialty Care. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at the Alden United Methodist Church with a private family burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery in rural Dows. Visitation will be an hour before the service. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls. 

Norman B. Hanson, 83, of Dows, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Franklin Country View in Hampton. 
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at First Lutheran Church, 206 W Ellsworth Street in Dows, with Pastor Anita Nuetzman officiating. Burial will be in Otis Grove Cemetery, rural Dows.

Linda Mae Hamilton, 76, of Hampton, formerly of Garner, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at her home. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., Friday, February 2, 2024, at Woodley Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Hampton United Methodist Church. Burial will take place at Maynes Grove Cemetery in rural Hampton.

Mary Hedrick, 73, of Sheffield passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Scenic Manor in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton with burial in the Hillside Cemetery in Sheffield. Lowell Brown, 99, of Hampton, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Franklin Country View in Hampton. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hampton with burial in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in Latimer. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday before the service at church.

Annette L. Lahner, 67 of Sheffield, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024.
The Lahner family plans to have a celebration of life at a soon, but warmer time of year (date unknown.)
