Hampton-Dumont-CAL (HDCAL) softball lost all of the three games they competed in last week. The Bulldogs lost 10-0 to the St. Edmond Gales on Monday, June 23, 11-0 to the West Fork Warhawks on Tuesday, June 24 and 6-5 to the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls 6-5 on Friday, June 27.
Hampton-Dumont-CAL has continued to play good baseball since starting the season 0-8. Last week, the Bulldogs went 3-0 overall, winning all of its games of the week. The Bulldogs won both games of a doubleheader versus the St. Edmond Gales on Monday, June 23, winning game one 8-5 and game two 8-1. The Bulldogs then defeated the West Fork Warhawks 7-5 on Tuesday, June 24.
The West Fork softball team went 1-2 during last week's games, as they are in the middle of a tough part of their schedule. The game scheduled on Monday, June 16 versus Nashua-Plainfield was rained out. The Warhawks dropped the first two games, first to the Riceville Wildcats 4-2 on Tuesday, June 17 then to the Newman Catholic Knights 6-5 on Thursday, June 19.
The West Fork baseball team won both games they played last week and has extended their winning streak to four games. The offense has been the main reason for the hot streak as the Warhawks have scored double digit runs in all four of those games.
Hampton-Dumont-CAL (HDCAL) softball lost both games of a doubleheader on Saturday, June 21. The games were a part of the Belmond-Klemme invite tournament. The Bulldogs dropped game one versus the North Butler Bearcats 12-3 before losing game two to the Belmond-Klemme Broncos 8-3.
The Hampton-Dumont-CAL (HDCAL) baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader versus the Algona Bulldogs at home on Thursday, June 19. The games were originally supposed to be played on Monday, June 16, but the games were suspended due to inclement weather. It was the only two games the Bulldogs would play last week, due to rainouts on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Hampton-Dumont-CAL softball team went 1-2 in the three games they played last week. They would drop their first two games of the week, losing to the AGWSR Cougars 7-2 on Tuesday, June 3 and to the St. Edmond Gaels 9-9 on Wednesday, June 4, before beating the Iowa Falls-Alden Cadets 10-8 on Friday, June 6.
Hampton-Dumont-CAL baseball was able to pick up their first win of the season as part of a 1-3 week overall. The Bulldogs split a double header with the Humboldt Wildcats, losing game one 8-3 and winning game two 4-3 on Monday, June 2, before losing both games of a double header to the Saint Ansgar Saints 11-0 and 7-0 on Saturday, June 7.
Hampton-Dumont-CAL’s (HDCAL) boys soccer team defeated the Charles City Comets by a score of 7-1 in the first round of the 2-2A substate playoffs on a rain soaked Tuesday, May 20.. The Bulldogs are the number three seed in the class 2A substate 2 tournament after a 9-3-3 record in the regular season, while the Comets were the six seed.
