Twelve members of the West Fork football team were selected to the district A-2 All-District teams. Seven players were selected to the first team, with seniors Dax Suntken, Parker Sheriff and Braydon Smit selected to the first team offense, and seniors Owen Schmidt, Jack Watters, junior Braylon Schreckengost and freshman Hayden Freyholtz selected to the first team defense. Five players were selected to the second team, with junior Blaine Schultz, junior Zander Hansen, senior Tyler Fessler and senior Wyatt Bonnema selected to the second team offense, and junior Keston Lambertsen selected to the second team defense. Head coach of the Warhawks, Dnaiel Westhoff, was pleased with how many of his players were recognized on the all-district teams.

"It was nice to see our guys get recognition for their commitment to the team," Westhoff said. "Happy to see them be appreciated for how well they performed this year."

Suntken led the Warhawks with 1,179 rushing yards, 13 rushing touchdowns, 13 receptions and 257 receiving yards, also hauling in two touchdown receptions. Blaine Schultz was second on the team with 640 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns, while catching four passes for 47 receiving yards. Fessler ran for 485 yards and six touchdowns while catching five passes for 76 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Zander Hansen was 53-for-86 passing on the season with 865 passing yards, eight passing touchdowns and three interceptions. Hansen also ran for 34 yards and two touchdowns. Parker Sheriff, Braydon Smit and Wyatt Bonnema were apart of the strong offensive line for the Warhawks.

Schmidt led the Warhawks with three sacks on the season. Schmidt also was second on the team with eight tackles for loss, and he finished with 26.5 total tackles. Watters led the Warhawks with 54 total tackles, and he accumulated four and a half tackles for loss. Braylon Shreckengost led the Warhawks with nine and a half tackles for loss, while also accumulating two sacks and 43.5 total tackles. Freyholtz was tied for the team lead with one forced fumble, and he collected 25.5 total tackles and two tackles for loss. Lambertsen also forced one fumble and led the Warhawks with five interceptions. Lambertsen also recorded 36.5 total tackles. Coach Westhoff discussed why those players earned those selections and how they will have to replace a lot of great seniors next season.

"They all put the team's success over their own," he said. "It shows we have a lot to replace, losing eight letter winners, but also have a lot of talent returning, with seven of those selections coming back."

The returning players will loom to build off the most successful season in West Fork football history.
