After eight years in business, the Stumble Inn in Bradford closed its doors for the last time Sunday afternoon.

The decision was made by employees after Stumble Inn Owner Alex High unexpectedly passed away Thursday,

When asked what this restaurant meant to the community, server and bartender Jodi Hesnard said it served as a gathering place for locals, who over the years became family. That also went for the employees, she said, as High made sure they were all treated like family.

Another longtime employee, Emileigh Eilderts said that while High could come off as "rough around the edges" at first, he had a kind soul.

"He was a big sweetheart and would do anything for anyone," Eilderts said.

They Stumble Inn was located at 107 2nd St. in Bradford.
