Hampton Senior Center Holds Cribbage Tournament Fundraiser

For the last three years, the Hampton Senior Center has held two cribbage tournament fundraisers a year — one in the spring and one in the fall.
The team at the center held their most recent tournament on Saturday, Sept. 20, where dozens of players from near and far showed up to participate.
Registration begin at 11 a.m. that morning, and the games kicked off thirty minutes later. Players fueled up on delicious treats and coffee throughout the day, which was whipped up by volunteers.
Each person paid 20 dollars to play. Half of the proceeds from the bi-annual tournament go back to the center, while the other half go back to the players.
The Hampton Senior Center is home to many activities for local elderly residents of Hampton. It’s a safe space to mingle with others while enjoying a delicious homemade meal, games, and resources.
The team at the center posted the following note on their Facebook, regarding the cribbage tournament: "Thank you to everyone that came out for our Cribbage Tournament yesterday! It’s so nice to see local folks and people from far and wide at the tables.
We’d also like to thank all the people that made this event possible - supplying snacks, volunteering their time, and the businesses that put up the flyers in their windows. Thank You!
We had a fantastic turnout all the way around and we couldn’t do it without YOU! Thank you so much for your continued support of the Hampton Senior Center."
The senior center is located at 23 1st SW. Keep up with their latest activities by following their page, "Hampton Senior Citizen Center," on Facebook.
