Carlson Tree Farm Teams up With CAL Class of 1996 to Plant Memorial Tree

The Carlson Tree Farm crew took on a special project this weekend. On Sunday, they planted a tree for the late Ida Fahrmann, of Latimer, who passed away in June of 2024. Her living tribute was placed in Latimer’s West Park.
The CAL Class of 1996 purchased the sycamore tree from the tree farm to show their support for their classmate, Paul Fahrmann, the son of Ida. Michelle Hartman, a member of CAL’s 1996 class, told the Chronicle that she and her family at the Carlson Tree Farm always enjoy being able to work on special projects like this one.
“We love being able to take a live tree with the soil it has been growing in for several years on our farm to its new home with our tree spade,” she said.
Paul and his children helped guide the tree into its new home at West Park.
“This Sycamore will grow tall and strong,” the Tree Farm posted on their Facebook. “May it stand for generations as a reminder of Ida's spirit, legacy, and the roots she planted in so many hearts.”
