The still untitled sequel to Nintendo's "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," commonly known as Breath of the Wild 2, was announced in 2019.

As 2019 rolled into 2020, I made an optimistic prediction that the game would be out later that year. It wasn't an outlandish prediction. Development of the game started two years prior, pretty much immediately after its predecessor was complete. With the sequel clearly running on the same game engine as the first one, an abbreviated development time was expected.

I bought a new video game this weekend.

"Triangle Strategy," a new tactics based RPG for the Nintendo Switch. It cost me $59.99 before tax.

How is that possible?

There's a lot of talk these days about inflation. The price of everything is going up. A dollar doesn't go as far as it used to.

This is not unusual. Really, it's inevitable over time. The current rate of inflation is causing an economic shock, but even in good times there is a slow and steady crawl upward in prices.

With season two of "Star Trek: Picard" underway and "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" upcoming, it looks like it's time to activate a Paramount+ subscription. Running at $4.99 a month for the subscription with commercial interruptions, it's pretty small price to pay for catching up on all that's been happening in the final frontier.

I haven't watched any new Star Trek since the shows were on Paramount+'s precursor, CBS All-Access so this week was my first experience with the new service.

It's absurd, isn't it? The year is 2022 and Russia appears to be forcibly trying to re-assemble the Soviet Union.

Why? That is the question of the hour. What possible benefit could there be in Russia sacrificing their economy, global reputation, and the lives of their soldiers to occupy a country that so very clearly does not want them?
