Denny Edwards, 74, of Hampton, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton. Funeral arrangements are pending with the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton.

 

Evelyn Marie Sharp, 89

Evelyn Marie Sharp, 89, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Monday, August 24, 2020, at the Franklin General Hospital.

A public visitation was held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 27, 2020, at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. A private family graveside service was held at St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Hampton.

The Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton assisted Evelyn’s family.

 

Larry Keith Johnson

Larry Keith Johnson, 81, of Latimer, Iowa, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020, at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center. He was born on July 7, 1939, in Hampton, Iowa, to Lawrence and Arloine (Hansen) Johnson.

Larry graduated from Franklin Consolidated, class of 1957. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Meyer on September 11, 1960, in Dows. From this union three sons were born: Curtis, Craig, and Tim. In their younger days, Larry and Evelyn enjoyed card clubs, snowmobiling, and couple’s club at church.

Phyllis Adeline Armstrong

Phyllis Adeline Armstrong, 79, of Hampton, passed away August 13, 2020, at the MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City. She was born May 14, 1941, in Mason City, Iowa, to Harold and Adeline (Sutcliffe) Payne.

Cora Lee Thielen, 90, of Hampton, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2020, at Franklin General Hospital.  She was born November 12, 1929, in Latimer, to Manly and Hazel (Azeltine) McCormick.

Jeryl W. Schmitt, 67, of Hampton, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton, after a battle with Melanoma cancer that lasted less than a year.  He was born October 11, 1952, in Hampton, to Wendell and Dorothy (Rodemeyer) Schmitt.

Frances Elaine (Whitmore) Douglas

Frances Elaine (Whitmore) Douglas, 94, of Mason City, passed Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at the I.O.O.F. Home in Mason City. She was born on February 9, 1926, in Geneva, Iowa, to Lloyd A. and Henrietta (Bodecker) Whitmore.



Frances was united in marriage to Robert Louis Douglas on October 20, 1945, in Fort Hood, Texas. She worked as a waitress and glass inspector at Libby-Owen Ford in Mason City, Iowa.



Frances was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ. She enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles and reading.

Raymond "R.L." Lionel Spurgeon Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 10, 2020, at the Hampton United Methodist Church.  Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 9, 2020, at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton.  Burial will take place in the Hampton Cemetery.

Raymond "R.L." Lionel Spurgeon Jr., 69, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at his home in Hampton.  He was born May 19, 1951, in Carthage, Missouri, to Raymond Lionel Spurgeon Sr. and Dorothy Ann Feather.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 10, 2020, at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton.  Burial will take place in the Hillside Cemetery in Sheffield. 

Merlyn O. Rieman, 79, of Hampton, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.  He was born September 2, 1940, in Allison, Iowa, to Oran and Irene (Harms) Rieman.

Betty Jean Aldinger

Betty Jean Aldinger, 97, of Hampton, IA passed away peacefully on August 8, 2020, at the North Iowa Hospice Center in Mason City, IA.  She was born on January 23 1923 on the family farm south of Ventura where she was raised until her high school graduation from Ventura High School in 1941.  Betty had various jobs after high school, her favorite was working for the Ritz Supper Club in Clear Lake, IA.
