What the community needed
Not much in this world comes with certainty nowadays.
For the last six months, we’ve been forced to play a “wait and see” game with vir-tually all events, activities and even careers.
Unsurprisingly, this may lead to the grinding down of spirits and hope but one thing it has done is boost apprecia-tion and support for our com-munity.
Thanks to the efforts of organizations and volunteers, as well as support from com-munity members, our area has still had the opportunity to enjoy live events and modified entertainment online while keeping an eye on safety amid the pandemic.
This has continued into the fall sports season where signs and posters, social media posts and fan support at games and on live streams let the student athletes and coaches know the community still has their back despite so much sadness and hopelessness in the world.
Even if people do not feel comfortable attending live events, they’ve still found ways to support efforts through donations, “shares” on social media and words of encouragement.
These activities and events have provided a bright spot in a dark climate for our communi-ty and will hopefully continue as teams and organizations continue to navigate the tricky terrain of COVID-19.
