Many in Hampton may not know the history, but the farmers market that crops up on HWY 3 east of Hardees twice a week from May to October can trace its roots back to 1974 when the food pyramid made its debut and bell bottoms were hot but farm to fork and whole foods movements were not. The food pyramid has changed over the years, as has location and makeup of The Hampton Farmers Market and the way we look at our diets and the food we eat.
