Area DAR Good Citizens Honored

Candle-Stick Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution met on Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 10 at the G.A.R. Memorial Hall in Hampton to honor the Class of 2026 DAR Good Citizens from this area. The DAR Good Citizen Scholarship program seeks to find and honor High School graduating students for their dedication to the qualities of good character who have demonstrated the traits of -- Dependability, Service, Leadership, and Patriotism. The students selected by their schools last November were: Dax Suntken of West Fork High School of Sheffield, Graciella Urbina of Hampton-Dumont-CAL High School and Sydney Holland of Iowa Falls-Alden High School. All three are seeking further education to continue their service and dedication to God Home & Country. Following the presentation and pinning ceremony, students were joined by family and friends in fellowship with refreshments and a time to explore a little more about the historic G.A.R. Memorial Hall and the DAR.
