Man Held on Cash Only Bond After Drug Charges

An Iowa Falls man was arrested on multiple drug charges by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Thursday evening, Feb. 5.

During a traffic stop, John Larson, 53, of Iowa Falls was found in possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff’s office.

The traffic stop took place in the 600 block of Mallard Ave. According to the sheriff’s office, their narcotics detection K-9 was deployed, indicating the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.  

He is facing charges for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) - more than five grams and less than five KG, a class B felony; possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), a class C felony; and possession of a controlled substance, a simple misdemeanor. Larson also received traffic violation warnings for speed and a defective muffler.  

Larson is currently behind bars at Hardin County Jail, where he will be held on a $25,000 cash only bond on his two felony charges. He had a magistrate hearing Friday morning.
