First Bank Hampton Donates $2,500 to Hampton Tree Board

First Bank Hampton donated $2,500 to the Hampton Tree Board on Tuesday, April 7. 

First Bank Hampton CEO Tyler Heeren said the bank has donated a total of $15,500 to the tree board over the last nine years.

“Supporting local non-profit organizations that do good work has always been important to First Bank Hampton. The Hampton Tree Board does a tremendous job contributing to the betterment of our community,” Heeren said. “They have passionate members who volunteer their time to complete the hard work of planting trees that will leave a long-lasting positive impact. We have been supporting the Hampton Tree Board for the past 9 years, and we have seen positive results in the community.”

Hampton Tree Board member Randy Sanders said First Bank Hampton has been one of their biggest donors thus far. 

“They’ve been consistently donating to the Hampton Tree Board to help us replace the canopy in the City of Hampton. Every spring and every fall, they’ve made donations to the Tree Board, and it’s really starting to pay off,” Sanders said. “So now they’re donating to our tree line street program, where we buy $100 to $200 trees and then we plant them for $50 in your yard.” 

The Hampton Tree Board members are constantly working to replace the infected Ash Trees that are being removed by the city.
