HD-CAL’s Maas finishes 63rd at State XC

Hampton-Dumont-CAL cross country was represented by Lydia Maas at Class 3A in Dike-New Hartford on Friday.

Maas finished in 63rd with a time of 20:51.87.

She finished the first mile with a time of 6:17.96 and the second mile in 13:11.64.

“Lydia has worked hard all season to make it to the state tournament,” coach Traci Moorehead said. “It was a goal of hers to make it down to Fort Dodge two years in a row.”

Maas ended up being in the top half of all runners at the state meet.

“She will be determined to work hard come spring and summer and will get another opportunity down at state.”
