Bulldogs football defeated by Humboldt in Class 3A playoffs

Hampton-Dumont-CAL football met the end of their season on Friday in the first round of Class 3A.

The Bulldogs took on undefeated Humboldt, ranked second in the RPI, on the road.

The game ended in a loss, 6-46.

The Wildcats caught an early lead, scoring 14 points in the first quarter.

By halftime, the game was 0-21.

Humboldt put the dagger in with an additional 19 points.

By that point, HD-CAL managed to score their only touchdown.

Senior Cal Heeran managed to sling the ball to Senior Tate Schmitt for 26 yards.

Heeran completed five passes for 48 yards.

On the ground, Logan Pfeffer led the Bulldogs for 69 yards rushing.

HD-CAL totaled 148 yards on the ground.

On Defense, Marco Guerrero had seven tackles

Will Sackville recorded the Bulldog’s lone interception.

Humboldt passed for 387 yards and rushed for 91 yards on the ground.

The Bulldogs end the year with a 5-5 record.
