HD/CAL Football finishes out regular season with home win

Hampton-Dumont-CAL finished their regular season schedule facing South Tama at home on Friday.

The Bulldogs put up big numbers with a 48-13 victory.

HD/CAL pulled away in the second quarter after going down 6-7 points, scoring 28 before the half.

The Bulldogs would put up 14 more points before the game’s end.

Senior quarterback Cal Heeren threw 17-24 for 343 yards and four touchdowns.

The team totaled 212 yards on the ground.

Senior Logan Pfeffer, sophomore Karter Janssen and sophomore Brody Walton each scored a touchdown.

Receiver Tate Schmitt caught six passes for 182 for a touchdown.

Schmitt took that touchdown for 91 yards.

The Bulldogs will play in the Class 3A playoffs this Friday, they will face fifth-ranked Humboldt on the road.
