"A Tradition Collision" Brings Christmas Decorating Fun to Stage

Neighbors will clash and garland will be flung as The Tradition Collision takes the stage at the Windsor Theatre this coming weekend. Presented by the Franklin County Arts Council, performances will be held on December 12 and 13 at 7 p.m. and December 14 at 1 p.m.  A cast of twenty area children ages 8 to 18 will present an original story about what happens when someone new moves to the neighborhood with a new spin on Christmas decorating.

These performances are the debut presentation of this original holiday act written and directed by local playwright Nathan Pralle. Pralle, in his fifth year as director for the Arts Council, continues the tradition of an all-children cast for this holiday presentation.   

"The talent present in our children in this county is incredible," he said. "They put so much heart into their characters and I just love watching them blossom."  

The cast, which has been rehearsing since October, will present a story about a street where a new family moves in and causes chaos amongst their three other neighbors because their decorating style is inspired by traditions all over the world.  

"I was inspired by the long and deep history of various Christmas traditions," Pralle said.   "This explores how many cultures can celebrate a holiday in both unique and unifying ways."

The show will play Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the historic Windsor Theatre in downtown Hampton and tickets for general admission will be available at the door.
