Statement from Franklin General Hospital on COVID-19

COVID-19 cases are surging in Franklin County. Franklin General Hospital (FGH) is asking for your help in slowing the spread.

If you have not yet received the COVID-19 vaccine, please make an appointment right away to do so. You can call 641-456-5082 to schedule an appointment. FGH is holding COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics each week in January and February. Booster and 3rd doses are also highly encouraged and are available at the vaccination clinics. When you call to make your appointment, please specify which dose you are requesting (1st, 2nd or booster).

Regardless of your vaccination status, it is important that you wear a mask indoors when around other people outside of your immediate circle of contacts. Many of us have gotten very lax about mask wearing at the grocery store, sporting events, etc., but masks are still a very important tool in slowing the spread of COVID-19. Handwashing also remains very important. Washing your hands frequently and thoroughly will protect you not only from COVID-19, but also from influenza and the common cold.

Due to the high community spread in Franklin County, FGH has a no visitors policy in effect until further notice. If you are coming to FGH for an appointment or procedure, please come alone unless you require a driver or support person. If you are a driver, please wait in your car.

Remember; any individuals entering FGH or any of our clinics are required to wear a mask, covering their nose and mouth, while in the building.

Your safety is a top priority at FGH. Our colleagues follow stringent safety protocols and take many extra steps to ensure that our facility is as clean as possible. However, if you have a routine check-up or other well-care appointment coming up soon and you would feel more comfortable rescheduling; please give us a call at 641-456-5062 or 5065. We’re happy to accommodate you.

Please do your part to protect yourself and those around you; wear a mask, wash your hand, watch your distance and, most importantly, get fully vaccinated.
