Nathan Louis Eilers

Nathan Louis Eilers, 89, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2026,at CentraCare Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., March 14 at First Congregational Church in Hampton. He will be laid to rest at the Dumont Cemetery following the service. A public visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Hampton Senior Center or First Congregational Church. Woodley Funeral Home of Hampton is caring for Nathan and his family.
Nathan was born in Butler County in Aplington, Iowa on April 14, 1936, to Pete and Minnie (Buseman) Eilers. His youth years he moved to Allison, Iowa and graduated from Allison High Scholl in 1954. After high school he worked at Bakers Grocery store. In 1958-1960, he served in the United States Army. He served 18 months of his 2 years in Germany as a cook. He was honorably discharged from the United States Arm y on October 31st, 1960.
Nathan was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sharon Eisentrager, on June2, 1962 at the Salem Evangelical United Brethren Church in Dumont, Iowa. They spent their entire married life living in Hampton.
During Nathan’s life, he enjoyed being with his family, he worked at B & W grocery store as an assistant manager, worked at United Hydraulics Corporation, worked at Farmers Corporation and a custodian at the Hampton-Dumont High School where he retired from in 2000. After retirement, he cleaned Dr. Semler’s optometrist office for 13 years and delivered flowers for Ady’s Flower Shop. He enjoyed being part of Hampton’s Lions Club. He liked watching any kind of sports, especially Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclones, Minnesota Vikings, and Minnesota Twins. He also enjoyed helping his wife cook, grilling, taking care of his lawn and word search books.
He was a member of the First Congregational UCC in Hampton, He served on different committees and taught Sunday School. His church was very important to him.
He is survived by his son, Kevin (Cheryl) Eilers of Sauk Rapids, MN, and daughter, Susan (Randy) Klein of St. Michael, MN, seven granddaughters: Carlie, Bailey, Ciara, Brittney, Amber, Morgan, and Alexis, one great granddaughter, Violet and one great grandson, Bennett.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon, his parents, Peter and Minnie Eilers, his sister, Betty and brother-in-law, Vernon Happle.
