Mary Louise Feldhoff was born September 19, 1936, in Iowa City, daughter of Martin and Lucy Ann (Hamblin) Love. She attended Mt. Ayr Community School. On July 4, 1954, Mary was united in marriage to Melvin George Feldhoff in Iowa Falls.

Mary worked many years at the Franklin County Care Center, caring for the elderly. She was a very hard worker and made many friends with the people she worked with. Mary loved going to the Hampton Senior Center and playing cards and bingo with her friends. Mary and Melvin also helped deliver meals for the Senior Center. They had a big garden in the summer and Mary would can vegetables, mostly green beans. When the rhubarb was up, she would make her son-in-law rhubarb pie. Mary loved flowers and she certainly had a green thumb, which she passed on to her children and grandchildren. Mary enjoyed going to church. She was deeply rooted in the Lord and was a good example for us all. Bible Study was what she looked forward to every Tuesday morning. Mary was very selfless and always thought of others first.

Mary’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren have many fond memories of her: Riding bikes as a past time and going to watch Ragbrai come into town; Mary and Melvin taking Jason and Karrie to watch Bryce play basketball at Morningside College; going to the Ranch House to have ice cream and sometimes share a banana split; the endless candy dish that was kept well stocked. Mary was always there for Isaac when his mother passed. She leaves behind many memories, but most of all, her love will forever be remembered.

Mary is survived by her daughter Vickie (Gordon) Naber of Hampton; son Bryce (Teresa) Feldhoff of Ames; grandchildren: Jason (Elizabeth) Naber of Columbus, Ohio, Karrie (Dean) Evans of Charlotte, North Carolina, Isaac Feldhoff of Ames, Jordan Luppen of Rochester, Minnesota, and Riley Luppen of Cedar Falls; three great-grandsons: Benjamin Naber, Samuel Naber and William Evans; cousin Betty Whitson of Newton; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Terry Feldhoff in 1989; husband of 64 years, Melvin Feldhoff in 2016; daughter-in-law Mary Feldhoff; brothers John (Marge) Love, Andrew (Peggy) Love and Melvin (Mickey) Love; sisters Elizabeth German Campbell (Everett German and Ward Campbell) and Aves (Bill) Fitzgerald on March 1, 2024; half-sister Ruth Love and half-brother Francis Love; sisters-in-law Doris (Myron) Linn and Gert (Dick) Kohl.
