Latimer Farmers’ Market Wraps up for Season

Latimer’s first farmers’ market came to an end on Friday, Oct. 10.
Baker and market coordinator Bekah Simmons said she felt their first summer went well and that she hopes it continues to grow in the future. For her, the size of the market and the ability to bond with other vendors is what makes these types of markets so great.
"I really like small-town markets, where we can support each other and build each other up," she told the Chronicle on Thursday.
She was joined by Karen Koenig, who was selling an assortment of jams, jellies, chili peppers, squash, cucumber, tomatoes, honey and more. Simmons brought her usual gluten-free baked goods, including pumpkin bread for five dollars and brownies for three dollars. The two had a steady stream of customers on their last night of the market.
The market was held every other Thursday, starting on July 3.
To keep up with the market in the future, join their public Facebook group, which is called “Latimer Farmers’ Market.”
Koenig wanted to remind everyone that the last day for the Hampton Farmer's Market is this Friday, Oct. 17, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. That market is located in the lot just east of Hardee’s.
