John Chaddock III

John Chaddock III, 81, of Sheffield, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the Rockwell Community Nursing Home. No public services are planned at this time. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory, Hampton, is caring for John and his family.

John Foote Chaddock III was born August 23, 1944 in Concord, California a son of John Foote Chaddock Jr. and Marie (Freitas) Chaddock. He graduated from Los Lomas High School. He was very involved with 4H. He went on to earn an AA Degree from San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton.

John worked on the family ranch and drove truck for a living. He was married in 1972 to Linda Anderson in Reno.

In 1978 John was disabled in an accident on the ranch. He continued to be active. In 2007 John and Linda moved to Iowa to be closer to their family.

John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda; daughter Deborah (Chad) Barkela, Sheffield; step-son David (Tara) Chaddock, Whittemore, Iowa; grandchildren Brady, Briley, Blake Barkela, Zach Hall, Dustin Wilson, Rebecca Jay-Chaddock; brother: Richard (Shirley) Chaddock; sister Kathy Hovie and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He is preceded in death by a step grandson, his parents and brothers-in-law.
