A man was arrested and is facing a charge for OWI, along with numerous traffic citations, after driving through the front of the Hampton-Dumont High School Saturday evening.

Kirk Gunderson, 64, of Hampton allegedly drove through the high school's front entrance around 9 p.m., according to the Hampton Police Department. The call came in shortly after 9 p.m.

According to a statement from the school, his car went through the front entrance and cafeteria, before hitting the lunch line door. The school stated that the building will be safe and secure by the time students arrive after winter break.

There were no injuries, according to the police department.

Gunderson was taken to the Franklin County Jail Saturday evening and was released Sunday morning.
