Doris Miller

Doris Miller, 91, of Geneva, passed away on October 17, 2025, at Scenic Manor in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be held at 1:00p.m., Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Woodley Funeral Home in Hampton. She will be laid to rest at the Lindenwood Cemetery following the service. Woodley Funeral Home of Iowa Falls is caring for Doris and her family.

Doris was born on November 24,1933, at the family home in Henry County, Iowa to Carl and Irene (Hart) Molander.  She attended Olds High School and was a graduate with the class of 1951. After high school Doris attended Iowa Wesleyan College and graduated with Cum Laude honors in 1955. After college she taught music in school and went on to work at Carlton Stewart Music Store in Mason City and gave piano and organ lessons for many years, she also had music recitals for the students.

Doris loved music and started playing the organ for church at the age of 11 and continued playing until she was 86 years old. The latest churches she played for were Geneva Methodist and St. Peter’s United Church. She enjoyed playing the organ and piano in her free time, reading all sorts of books, but the Bible the most read, doing word search puzzles, and watching the Wheel of Fortune.

Doris was a loving mother, proud grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her kindness, faith, and the love she shared with everyone around her.

Left to cherish Doris and the lasting memories she had made are her children: Kristie (Allen) Vanderpool, Joni Jaymes, and Traci (Todd) Pilchard, grandchildren Nicole Vanderpool, Tiffany Stutsman (Vanderpool), Cody Fisher, Brandon Pilchard, Brittany Kaufman (Pilchard), and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Julie (Clarence) Leichty and many nieces and nephews.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Irene, granddaughters Mandy Mutschler (Warren) and Jennifer Warren, and brother Allen Molander.
