Cougars sixth in opening meet

CONRAD – AGWSR’s girls track team finished sixth out of 13 teams in a return to the track for the first time since 2019.

None of the Cougars earned individual or relay victories with the top finish coming from Karis Lippert in the 800-meter run, a runner-up finish in 2 minutes, 44.59 seconds, as she was edged by South Hardin’s Macy Engelson (2:43.89).

The 4x200-meter relay team also took runner-up honors in 2:04.01 out of the first of two heats as well as a runner-up finish for the 4x400 relay in 4:40.99, also running the first of two heats. Individual runners for relays were unavailable.

Another top finish for AGWSR was Alyssa Hames in the 100-meter hurdles, taking third in 19.53.

Dike-New Hartford claimed the team title with 111 points, getting past Hudson, with 103.
