Community Members Enjoy Another Successful 'Friday Uncorked'

The Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce held their long-awaited Friday Uncorked event on Friday, Nov. 28, drawing around 170 people to the heart of Hampton.

From 4 to 7 p.m., community members stopped by the following shops and locations for wines, appetizers and other refreshments: The Wood Cellar, Goose & Gander, Foley Inkd, Christensen Jewelry, the Franklin County Fair (at First and Second Vintage Too!), Fireside Gifts, Long Term Medical Supply, First & Second Vintage, Britt's Boutique, Rustic Brew, Windsor Theatre and Studio 27 Day Spa.

Not only did participants get to fill up on wine and refreshments, but they scored great deals and discounts at many of the stops, as well as a goody bag from On the Go Media.

First and Second Vintage Owner Jerre Grefe, who helped plan the event, said that it was a huge success, despite the frigid temps.

"The cold weather did not chill the crowd's spirits," she said. "Everyone was in a fun, festive mood and we had a blast!"

That evening, Grefe could be found at her shop, First and Second Vintage, with her bartender for the night, Nolan Luther, and employee Nancy Kramer — all three were dressed to impress in their 1920s-style outfits.

As always, participants voted for their favorite wines and appetizers, and the winners will be announced in the near future. And those who voted will be entered into a drawing for a wine-themed gift basket, sponsored by the Hampton Specialty Shops.
