Lanny Ross Blohm, 82, of Dumont, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at the Dumont Wellness Center in Dumont. He was born on June 19, 1938, in Dumont, to Lewie and Gertrude (Borneman) Blohm. Lanny attended country school and Dumont Community School.

Lanny had four children Kim, Shelly, Todd and Randy. He met Betty Winkowitsch and they were married on April 1, 1972, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. This union joined their two families together, giving Lanny five stepchildren Jim, Valarie, Lloyd, Wanda, and Troy.

Dorothy Jurgens, age 96, went to her heavenly home on Monday, March 29, 2021 at the Sheffield Care Center surrounded by family. Visitation will be 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton, Iowa. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Funeral service will be 10:30am Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Zion Reformed Church of rural Sheffield. Burial will immediately follow at the Zion Reformed Church cemetery.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa Falls. The funeral service will be live streamed on the First United Methodist Church's Facebook page. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Surls Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Iowa Falls.

He was baptized and confirmed at Evangelical and Reformed Church of rural Hampton. He attended country school at Honold Independent School through 7th grade.

Jean Connelly, 97, of Hampton, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton. She was born May 9, 1923, in Hampton, to Leil B. and Anna K. (Bahls) Walker.

Jean graduated from Hampton High School, class of 1940. She was united in marriage to Allen Connelly on March 23, 1947, in Hampton. Jean worked alongside her husband, helping him on the farm. They retired in 1982. She was a member of the Red Hats, Hampton United Methodist Church and numerous church committees.

Gary Alan Barth, 67, passed away peacefully, March 23, 2021, at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community following a recent diagnosis of a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer.

Gary said he has always tried to be a good person, and those who knew Gary say he was such a kind and caring person. He was loved by all who knew him. Born October 22, 1953 in Decorah, he was raised by loving parents, Harold E. and Helen G. (Thorson) Barth in Waterloo, IA. He was easy-going and always thoughtful - had a wonderful smile and was always described as “the cutest little kid ever”.
