The Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce has a new leader, Hampton resident Newton Grotzinger.
Megan Rosenberg, president of the Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, said Grotzinger was offered the job of executive director Friday and that he accepted the offer later in the day.
"We interviewed him, then offered him the job," Rosenberg said, noting he was one of eight candidates invited back for interviews and one of three candidates in the final running.
Grotzinger formerly worked for 25 years at Hardee's restaurant, serving as the district manager for between six and eight locations throughout North Central Iowa including the one in Hampton. He helped open the Hampton Hardee's before being promoted to district manager. He is a long-time resident of the city with his wife and three grown children.
"I'm looking forward to it," he said. "I want to get my feet wet and get to work."
