Brook Boehmler, the first candidate to declare intentions for seeking the Hampton mayor's office, has officially filed his campaign paperwork with the City of Hampton.
Hampton Deputy City Clerk Robbi Stevens verified at about 2:24 p.m. Wednesday that Boehmler had completed his candidate paperwork for the mayor's election and submitted it.
Boehmler is the former executive director of the Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce and is seeking political office for the first time. His only officially declared opponent to date is former Hampton mayor Diane Weldin.
The Hampton city council and mayoral election is scheduled for Tuesday Nov. 5.
