Eunice Brandt

Eunice Brandt, 88, of Hampton, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025, at Westbrook Acres Nursing Home, in Gladbrook, Iowa. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 29, at Woodley Funeral Home, Hampton. Burial will be at the Dumont Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service at the funeral home.

Eunice May Brandt was born February 12, 1937, in Hampton, a daughter of Harold and Mildred (Kibsgaard) Benson. She graduated from Dumont High School. On February 2, 1958 she married Harry R. Brandt. They lived north of Hampton for many years before moving into Hampton in later years. Harry and Eunice attended Zion Reformed Church, rural Sheffield.

Eunice was a Driver’s License Examiner for the State of Iowa for over 33 years, retiring in 1994. She would load her crew and equipment in her van and travel to counties around Franklin County every day.  Eunice loved to dance, she and Harry would square-dance and two-step. She enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens and spending time with her family. She was known for her exceptional rhubarb desert.

Eunice is survived by a brother: Bob Benson, Dumont; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry; parents Harold and Mildred Benson; brothers, Floyd & Frank; sisters, Dorothy, Vivian, Bonnie & Janice; nephews Daryl & Tony and niece Della.
