City Councils & School Boards
I’m sure most people haven’t even thought about this year’s election. Yes, there is an election on November 4th and our office is busy starting to plan and prep already. This year is the city-school election in which voters will elect city council members, mayors, and school board members. This is my plug for you to consider serving your community in one of these capacities. There is always a need for candidates and until you serve in a capacity like this, it is easy to judge and think you could do better. So, please consider a campaign for a position. Not sure what’s coming up? I’ve got you! Here’s the list of the seats that will be on the ballot this year in Franklin County:
-
City of Alexander – Mayor & 2 Council Members
-
City of Coulter – Mayor, & 2 Council Members
-
City of Dows – Mayor & 3 Council Members
-
City of Geneva – Mayor & 5 Council Members
-
City of Hampton – Mayor & 5 Council Members
-
City of Hansell – Mayor & 5 Council Members
-
City of Latimer – Mayor & 2 Council Members
-
City of Popejoy – Mayor & 2 Council Members
-
CAL School District – 3 Board Members
-
Hampton-Dumont School District – 2 Board Members
-
West Fork School District - 2 Board Members
This is not an exhaustive list as there are some school districts & community colleges that have not turned their information in to me as I am not the control county for their district, but this is a large majority of them. If you have just a little time to give, consider a run. If you’re curious about the time commitment, etc, I encourage you to reach out to the City Clerks or School Board Secretaries. If you’re interested in the requirements of running, you can reach out to them or to me and my office.
