New pastor settling at Faith Baptist Church

Faith Baptist Church’s new pastor Dustin Byrnes is settling in to his role.

Originally from Hermantown, Minnesota, Byrnes got a degree in law enforcement and worked as a police officer for nine years in Atikin, Minnesota.

Byrnes left law enforcement when he found Jesus and then worked several other jobs, including lumber yard work, a paraprofessional at a local school, and the YMCA, always making sure to be involved with volunteering at the church.

Through working with his church, Byrnes participated in a ten day mission trip to Ukraine.

“My biggest takeaway was that if you want to and try to, you can break the language and cultural barriers,” Byrnes said.

After his mission trip, Byrnes and his family moved to Hampton where he has been working as a pastor with Faith Church for the past three and a half months.

“We love this town, it’s a great community,” said Byrnes.

Byrnes has a degree from Crown College in St. Bonifacius, MN in Christian Ministry with a minor in biblical studies. He is currently pursuing his masters in Christian Studies.

Throughout his life, Byrnes has always enjoyed working with children and he really liked the theology of Faith.

“It’s very appealing to me,” Byrnes said. “It was really enjoyable to hear such sound biblical concepts.”

As the summer months approach, he is looking forward to the many activities that the church will host. On June 14 – 18, they will host a vacation bible school, they are working on putting together a youth mission trip, they will host a Father’s Day car show, and are currently working on the preparations for a local ministerial service that will take place during the week of the Franklin County Fair.

Faith Baptist Church hosts in-person services every Sunday at 9:30 a.m.

“Right now, the world is full of darkness, anger, and hate, and church is the best place I know to find light, grace, peace and love,” said Byrnes.
