The Windsor Theatre will increase its ticket prices by $1 each, as of March 10,  2017 due to 2016 marking the second lowest average weekly turnout since the theatre’s reopening in 1999. Adult tickets will now cost $5 and youth aged 16 and under will be $4 each.
According to a press release from the Windsor Theatre Board of Directors, average weekly attendance in 2016 was 370 people, making it second lowest to 2012’s weekly average attendance of 367 people. Since 2013, weekly attendance at the theatre has been unable to reach the reported 461 in that year, failing to break 400 any of the preceding years. In 2004, attendance at the theatre topped out at 691 average weekly attendance.
"This is the second time in seventeen years that ticket prices have been increased," said Windsor Theatre Manager Jim Davies. "The $1-per-ticket will help make up for the loss of revenue due to declining attendance and increased costs of operation. We are a non-profit corporation but the Windsor still needs to be run as a money-making business.”
