A West Fork Community School District bus, carrying 12 students at the time, was in a collision on Tuesday, Jan. 24 when it was hit by a pickup truck.
That Tuesday West Fork CSD was released early, at 2 p.m., because of an incoming winter storm, and the crash happened at approximately 2:35 p.m. at the corner of 210th St. and Quail Ave. when a pickup truck, driven by 51-year-old Terry Michael Swart of Rockford, collided with the school bus at the intersection.
The school bus, driven by Swaledale resident Kimberlee Sue Kephart, 55, was southbound on Quail when it stopped at a stop sign, then Kephart pulled forward, failing to see the pickup truck traveling eastbound on 210th.
