MARSHALLTOWN – It is good to be back.
Kenna Weaver shook off last year’s disappointment of missing her first state cross country meet as a junior, by taking a top-10 finish at the Class 1A state qualifying meet at Marshalltown on Thursday, Oct. 18.
“It definitely feels great,” Weaver said. “It was well-needed for my senior year. I was sick this time last year and now I’m really excited. Whatever happened today doesn’t matter, what matters is next (this Saturday, Oct. 27).”
The senior finished seventh overall, fifth in team scoring to earn her third state berth in which she medaled her previous two trips.
