State cross country parking will be at remote locations with shuttles bringing fans in since recent heavy rains have rendered parking fields around the course unmanageable. The four sites include the Harlan Rogers Sports Complex down the street from Kennedy Park (1614 Nelson Ave), Rosedale Rapids (1111 North 32nd Street), Fort Dodge Middle School (800 North 32nd Street) and Fort Dodge Senior High School (801 North 25th Street).

MARSHALLTOWN – It is good to be back.

Kenna Weaver shook off last year’s disappointment of missing her first state cross country meet as a junior, by taking a top-10 finish at the Class 1A state qualifying meet at Marshalltown on Thursday, Oct. 18.

“It definitely feels great,” Weaver said. “It was well-needed for my senior year. I was sick this time last year and now I’m really excited. Whatever happened today doesn’t matter, what matters is next (this Saturday, Oct. 27).”

The senior finished seventh overall, fifth in team scoring to earn her third state berth in which she medaled her previous two trips.
