SHEFFIELD – Pushing the tone, when West Fork lead-off hitter Reese Halloran saw no one covering second when he reached on a walk, he took his chances and tried to turn a walk into two bases.
However, he was cut down trying to steal the bag.
“I have no problem with Reese trying to take the extra base,” West Fork coach Lance Thompson said. “We talk about being aggressive and stretching singles into doubles and doubles into triples. It didn’t work in that situation, but it may next time.”
