Warhawks come up short against No. 3 Belmond-Klemme

SHEFFIELD — West Fork had just taken the lead on a big run by Ian Latham, regrouping from a 7-2 halftime deficit to lead 8-7.
But Belmond-Klemme answered just two plays later on a trick play, a halfback pass from Gustavo Suarez to Logan Heaberlin that gave the Broncos the lead back for good as Class A No. 3 B-K escaped with a 21-14 win over the Warhawks on Friday, Sept. 21.
That ultimately provided the difference as coach James Perez’s team fell to 3-2 overall, 0-1 in the Class A District 3 opener.
“The halfback pass kind of got us,” Perez admitted. “The bad thing is we kind of rep’ed that all week because we knew it was going to come..."
