Warhawks ‘win ugly’ over Top of Iowa foe North Butler

GREENE – Frank Schnoes will be the first to admit that wasn’t one of his team’s prettiest wins.
The West Fork boys basketball coach watched his team emerge from a first quarter deficit and sluggish play out of the break for a 50-34 victory at North Butler on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
Turnovers galore marred the contest throughout and it was a garden variety: charge calls, mishandles, straight steals, you name it.
“We had a couple of really good scrimmages coming out of the break,” Schnoes said. “Charles City, Garner and Dike-New Hartford and I thought we really scrimmaged well, so it’s kind of a surprise...."
