Unwanted “artwork” angers local officials, residents

A rash of graffiti vandalism has local law enforcement officials asking for the public’s help in identifying a culprit.
     Multiple spray painted designs, also known as “tags,” showed up this month on public and private property in the Hampton area. The Rolling Prairie Trail and multiple businesses were hit heavily, as were other spots at Mallory Park and Maynes Grove.
     Franklin County Conservation director Jason Gooder estimated damage to public property between $4,500-$5,000.
     “That trail and these parks are things that make this community better. When somebody comes along and does something like this, it’s just really upsetting,” he said.
