Two Bulldogs earn NCC titles in front of home crowd

HAMPTON – Folks for years haven’t called the North Central Conference wrestling tournament the ‘mini-state meet’ for nothing.
Two seniors in the upper weights for Hampton-Dumont brought home the coveted and elusive titles, something only 51 H-D or Hampton wrestlers have done in the past 48 years.
Logan Chipp, at 182 pounds, and Miles Fristo moments later at 195 actually made it 52 and 53 for the Bulldogs’ program.
Fristo’s achievement came in only his second year of wrestling and his initial reaction showed that he may have been unaware of what he accomplished.
