Twice as nice: council reappoints Freie

Drama was lacking Thursday night when the Hampton City Council unanimously voted to reappoint Meghan Freie to the Ward 1 council seat.
     Council members took less than two minutes to reach their decision. Freie, who has held the Ward 1 seat since July 2014, planned to move from the area and submitted her resignation last month. However, a change of plans prompted her to stay, consequently forcing the council to reappoint her after accepting the resignation.
     Ward 1 resident Mark Siciliano also applied for the seat following Freie’s resignation.
