Twedt wins final home cross country meet

ROCKWELL – Only a few minutes removed from easily winning his final home cross country meet at Linn Grove Country Club, Peyton Twedt, the Class 1A second-ranked individual looked like he’d just been out for a stroll and took time to hug his grandmother, Elaine, before she headed off to watch “Dancing With the Stars.”

He had just obliterated his personal best time by almost a minute, covering the course in 15 minutes, 35 seconds, beating his own teammate Jacob Hansen for second place by 0:28 on Monday, Sept. 22.

 “I’m definitely going to miss it (the course) and used to it – I run on it all the time,” Twedt said. “I think I could run it blindfolded. It was nice to run, have the community come out to support you. Have the community who usually doesn’t get to see it and may not know what cross country is come out and watch and see that the team is pretty good...."
