Rural Alexander resident Tracy Peters was positive a tornado is to blame for the destruction that left her and her husband homeless last week.

"I felt the pressure change, and I heard the sucking sound in my bathroom sink. My ears popped," she said. "It didn't sound like a freight train like they always say it does. I did not hear it. Just thunder, lightening, hail – and then the pressure change."

Tracy and her husband, Darvin, had the roof torn off their home north of Alexander during the June 16 storms that ripped across Franklin County. Whether or not a tornado touched down there is still unknown, but Tracy remained certain last week.

"It had to have been," she said as she surveyed the damage last Wednesday.
