What are the top 13 moments that happened in the Hampton area in 2013? Here are a few:

No. 12: AGWSR softball team takes third. Not to be outdone by the boys track team, the Cougar softball team went toe-to-toe with some of the state’s best, taking on last year’s state champion in the semifinal only to lose a one-run game. They rebounded and rallied in the third-place game to finish the year on a winning note and placing battery teammates Ashley Sicard and Ella Frazier on the all-tournament team.

No. 13: Hampton-Dumont baseball team rallies in first-round of post-season. Despite a sub-.500 regular-season record, coach Matt Lokenvitz’s team were the underdogs against Hudson in the Class 2A District 6 tournament, trailed 2-1 and the Bulldogs were down to their last strike, only to stun the Pirates with three straight hits after that to win 3-2 and win a post-season game.
