KLMJ hosted its highly-anticipated 30-year anniversary luncheon last Sunday at the Harriman-Nielsen House, and one lucky visitor walked away with a vintage set of wheels.

Garold Titus, Aredale, won the 1983 Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am giveaway contest sponsored by the radio station. The car was part of KLMJ’s 30-year celebration and made its way to 105 local festivals, locations and community events throughout the area this summer. According to station employees, over 4,000 miles were put on the car during its tour.

Titus was one of 10 finalists selected from a list of 100 qualifiers. People registered their name during the spring and summer and were gradually selected to the list of 100 during the past few months. According to KLMJ’s website, Titus was the 74th qualifier selected. He said he registered during the tractor ride at the Grundy County Fair in July.
