HAMPTON – Hampton-Dumont junior Patty Teggatz will make her third trip to the state track meet in a distance race after finishing runner-up in the 3,000 in front of the home crowd on Thursday, May 11.
Teggatz got out to the lead right away and held it for the first 800. She remained among the top-two and with a strong pack of four the rest of the way.
“The home crowd definitely helped in this race,” Teggatz said. “Being on my home field, I wasn’t going to take anything less than the best. I ran the best of this season so far, not a PR, but it’s getting down there, so I’m happy."
The full story appears in the May 17 print and online editions of the Hampton Chronicle.
