Supervisors review bridge concerns Monday

The Frankin County supervisors OK’d new weight restrictions on nine local bridges at their meeting Monday morning.

     County Engineer Jay Waddingham presented the supervisors with a list of bridges with wood timber foundations that are structurally vulnerable. Four new bridges were added to the embargoed list, and five previously named bridges had their weight limitations lowered. A total of 21 Franklin County bridges were included the motion establishing weight limits. However, some restrictions remained unchanged from previous years.

     “They’re just embargoed, they’re not closed,” said supervisor Chair Jerry Plagge.
