Superintendent search continues at CAL

The CAL Board of Education met during a special work session on Nov. 24 to discuss the district’s ongoing search for a new superintendent.

     The board discussed three different possibilities during the hour-long session. Options ranged from hiring a new superintendent/elementary prinicipal to sharing a superintendent with another district. Ultimately, the board felt using existing faculty members to staff the positions was in the district’s best interest.

     The special session was prompted by current Superintendent/Elementary Principal Dwight Widen’s resignation announcement last month. Widen, who has been with the district since 2012, will remain at CAL until his contract expires in June 2015.
