Steven Gregory Borcherding, 64

Steven Gregory Borcherding, 64, of rural Latimer, died peacefully at his home early Friday morning, June 23, 2023.

Steven was born October 26, 1958, to Donald H. and Genevieve (Pandil) Borcherding of Latimer.

Steve graduated from CAL in 1977. He was active in FFA, and enjoyed trapping, hunting and fishing.

Following high school, Steve worked as a welder and for area farmers. In recent years, he was an OTR driver which provided him the opportunity to see and explore many areas of the U.S.

During his free time, Steve enjoyed fishing, working on motors in his shop, hanging out with friends, and spoiling pets.

Those preceding him in death are his father Donald, mother Genevieve, and brother William; several uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends; and many beloved cats and dogs.

Steve is survived by his sister Jane of Kansas City, MO.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the family’s farm, 1909 Grouse Ave, Latimer. Immediately following the service, lunch will be served at the Latimer Community Center. All family, friends, and classmates are invited to attend.
